Vocabulary Parade

After reading Miss Alaineus: A Vocabulary Disaster, Mrs. Hanneman and I challenged the 4th and 5th graders to choose a challenging word to learn and portray for our 1st annual Vocabulary Parade!  The goal was for the kids to learn some challenging words to start incorporating into their writing. I was impressed with the creativity and effort the kids put forth.

Check out the costumes and words!
Words: terrorize, fruitless, sidekick

 Words: enormous, angelic, cheerful, litter

Words: blizzard, celestial, resplendent

Words: agile, sleuth, devour

Words: precipitation & regal

1st Quarter Business Day

Our first Business Day of the school year is under our belts!  It was a huge success!

As part of our classroom economy system, students are given the option of opening their own business as an extra source of income.  All goods must be homemade.  This has proven to be a very lucrative undertaking!  The kids and parents/teachers all enjoy this quarterly event.

Here are some shots of the kids from this morning...

Mass: 10/4

Once again, I was a proud teacher this morning.  The Jungle Crew did an AWESOME job in mass.  They were poised, and I was impressed.

Superstar Celeste

Celeste is our latest Jungle Superstar.  She was chosen for her work ethic and responsibility.  I appreciate how Celeste always put forth her person best effort, makes good decisions in the classroom, and displays responsibility on a daily basis.  Congratulations, Celeste!  I am proud of you!
