Business Day

Business Day is a fun way to get a job!  The class makes things to sell.  It's a project for the class.  Our class does Business Day in our classroom.  It is always at the end of the quarter.  It's a celebration for the end of the quarter because we did a good job.  Mrs. Hochmeister sets it up for us. That is what our awesome Business Day is!

Screenplays

The 4th grade Jungle Crew had screenplays over our lit circle novels.  The novels were Rascal, Clementine, The Secret School, and The Enormous Egg.  They started at the beginning of March and went from there.  They had different costumes and props.  They had random characters such as dogs, people, and dinosaurs.  All of the 4th graders loved this project!

Happy Birthday, Dr. Suess!

Although the beloved author's birthday isn't until tomorrow, we took the oppotunity to celebrate a little today!  We started the day by watching the movie version of The Cat In the Hat.  The kids loved it!  I wish I could say the same.  The twins have recently become OBSESSED with "the cat", so we have had the movie on repeat at our house for weeks.  At least Alec Baldwin is in the movie...

This afternoon, we invited Mrs. Weinzapfel's kindergarten crew over for some Suess-tastic partner reading!  The kids paired up and read together.  They always enjoy this sort of peer activity with the younger students in the building.

After some EEKK time, the kids enjoyed some One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish snacks while they watched the cartoon version of The Cat In the Hat.  The 4th graders wrapped up the day by completing a compare/contrast on the two versions of the popular story.
Watching the movie while enjoying some fish!

Overall, fun was had by all!  The Jungle Crew welcomed the relaxing day after 4 days of ISTEP Boot Camp this week!  We are ready to rock the test next week!
